Access denied on command line shutdown in Windows 7

If you have encounter these problems:

Getting Access is Denied when accessing Windows 7 share from Windows XP[1]
PSShutdown? Access Denied? Pulling hair out? [2]
shutdown -i Access Denied? [3]

Solution:

"Thanks to a precise post at one of the MS forums, this gem comes to anyone looking to use psshutdown with Windows 7 systems:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\System
create or modify 32-bit DWORD: LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy
set the value to: 1

PSShutdown will fail before you do this, and succeed after. Sure, you've got to create an account with a password on the Win7 box and give it administrator rights, but by now you already knew all that." -- [2]
